Peter Vida is the hungarian winemaker of the year 2011

This year Peter Vida won the Award of the Year’s Winemaker. The Hungarian Wine academy announced the name of the Winner of this year Friday at noon in Budapest. This title is the most prestigious honor of the Hungarian wine growers.

This prize does not mean the recognition of the excellent quality of the wine, but can be granted for the outstanding performance of the wine grower persistent for many years, for the permanent excellent quality of his wines, and for the domestic and international success of those.
Peter Vida is producing in the Szekszard Wine Region. His series called La Vida has already gained several international recognitions. No matter how proud he is about his La Vida prizes, Merlot and the Kadarka of the Old Vines are still the closest to his heart – stated.
The 58-year-old Péter Vida graduated at the College Faculty of the Debrecen Agricultural University. He was working as an agronomist, and as the manager of the viniculture branch at the ‘Aranyfürt’ (Golden Bunch of Grapes) Agricultural Cooperative.

In 1995 he decided to establish his own enterprise, the Vida Family Ranch, where his three children are also taking part of the daily work. He deems it important above everything to have the chance to be present at the harvest of many nice and special vintages. He would like to make this wine region and its wines known to as many people as possible, and his continuous effort is to live in the best harmony with Nature.

For the next ten years he plans the continuous development and re-plantation of the existing areas, and launching of new fields. Besides the permanent technological improvement of the wine ranch he would like to provide excellent hospitality service.
