In 2014 the Association of the Pannon Wine Region and the editor of the magazine “Pécsi Borozó” have organized the seventh “Pannon Wine Region TOP25″ competition.
Best wines of the four areas (Pécs, Szekszárd, Tolna and Villány) of the region participated in the competition, where the top wines of the region were selected by a panel of judges. The panel brought down their decision on 14 May 2014 in Mecseknádasd.

In 2014 a total of 45 cellars with 122 wines entered into the TOP25 competition. Most of the wines originated from the Villány region (39%), 34% from Szekszárd, 15% from the Tolna region and 9 % from Pécs. 3 % of the wines were entered only with the marking of “Pannon Wine Region”. 24 % of the wines was white, 12 % rose and the rest red.
Public introduction of the TOP25 will be held on 21 June 2014, in the Hotel Corso Pécs. The organizers, in addition to the excellent wines, will introduce other local products as well.
