Hungarian wines in chinese gastronomy

The Association of Hungarian Handmade Wines will explain the uniqueness of Hungarian wines to Chinese consumers with the help of organizing events in China and Hungary. At present there are 14 members in this association, which is continuously expanding.

A significant milestone in the work of the Association is a book titled “Hungarian Wines in Chinese Gastronomy”, written by Ágnes Herczeg, which has been published in Hungarian and Chinese languages. In this book Hungarian wines are listed with matching Chinese dishes.

In November 2013 the author personally introduced her book at a press conference held in the newly opened Hungarian Cultural Institution in Beijing. The presentation, which included a food and wine tasting as well, was the first official program of the Institution.

The Beijing office of the Association (www.mkbsz.org) is working hard on distributing the book to as many people as possible during the Chinese New Year festivities.

With the cooperation of the Institution, the Association is planning a series of cultural events in 2014, which will be aimed to make Hungarian wines and wine culture more popular in China. The second print of the book is under preparation, in which they would like to expand further the scope of Hungarian wines and winemakers.
