As a result of the decision made by the Hungarian Wine Academy (Magyar Bor Akadémia), in 2014 Tamás Dúzsi won the prestigious award of the “Winemaker of the Year”.

This time Tamás Dúzsi from Szekszárd reached the final the fifth time along with other nominees such as János Bolyki (Eger), Tamás Borbély (Badacsony), Csaba Koch (Hajós-Baja, Villány) and Mátyás Szőke (Mátra).

Tamás Dúzsi (64) established his family cellar in 1994 on 3.6 ha. He loves poetry and he is the loving father of seven children. By now the property expanded to 26.5 ha, but the Dúzsi family prepares wines from 45 hectares, which includes leased and contracted land as well.
He regularly enters into international wine competitions. In 2014 he won several gold medals, among others from the Le Mondial du Rosé, the Challenge International du Vin, the ProWein and the Mundus Vini wine competitions.
